Why change the name of this newsletter/blog from Creativity for Fiction Writers to Fiction Writing Salon?
I spent many weeks pondering the change, yet the reason for it is simple. Although I believe that creativity permeates just about all that we do as fiction writers—or it should at least—I write about much more than that specifically. I also write about plot, theme, characterization, settings, inspiration, and yes, creativity. And I plan to continue doing so.
I had my first book published way back in 1994. Eleven more followed over the years, with a couple of breaks here and there. During that time, I picked up a mountain of knowledge and understanding—through writing and rewriting, acceptances and rejections, and working with editors at some of the top publishing houses.
I see this newsletter/blog as a gathering place (a salon, if you will) where I get to share all that I’ve learned over the years with any- and everyone wishing to learn, read about, and ponder what I have to offer—and also to participate and share their writing and ideas.
