Your story sounds a little bit like my own! I also moved a lot, sometimes even between continents, 17 times in all (yes, I counted!). And I carry such wonderful memories of the places where I lived, and some that are also not so nice to remember. I chose various as settings for my books, and I think that moving actually can trigger inspiration ...

Yes, Anette. Moving to a new place can be so inspiring. One of my last two novels was inspired by my most recent move. But 17 moves! You must have so much rich material for your books.

Hallo Conny, thank you for your kind answer. I do have a lot of materials, but I started writing in a serious way very late, after I finished my career in international university relations. So far, my agent wasn't able to find me a book deal; so I'll go into SP for my latest novel. I just love to write!

Writing is writing regardless of how it's published. Some who SP and do well later land a traditional published. Although I'm sure you're aware of that. Best of luck with the SP.

Indeed every place where we live leaves a mark on us. And every country too. I feel I have so many bits inside me in a jumble from all the countries where I've lived, still trying to make sense of it all. Thank you for this piece.

You're welcome, Andrea. Yes, it can seem a jumble when looking back. I find that writing helps to release and clarify some of the feelings. I hope you find your way to clarity.
